FREE Hawaiian printable to use this Holiday season
Sep 01, 2023Aloha,
This is the season for Christmas parties and family get-togethers. I hope you’re surrounded by the people that you can talk-story and enjoy good food with. (Even better if you can practice your Hawaiian with them.)
To keep you in the habit of using the language in practical ways, here are some Hawaiian phrases you can use this holiday season that have to do with gatherings.
E paina kakou—Let’s eat.
E haawi mai i pa—Give me a plate.
(Aia) ia oe ka puna hopu—Do you have the tongs?
Ono keia mau mea ai—These dishes (foods) are delicious.
I’m glad you all liked the handout about wrapping gifts from my last email. This week, my wife, Emily, and I teamed up again to create another handout for you to really understand and remember some of these Hawaiian phrases.
Enjoy your time as you gather with friends and family.
Aloha,
Malu
