Do this to improve how you speaking Hawaiian

Sep 01, 2023

Aloha,

Another way to use these Hawaiian language resources to quickly improve your ability to speak like a native speaker is to mimic them on the recordings.

Here are 2 new resources to listen to. For the kane, listen to John Broad. For the wahine, listen to Rose Manu & Mary Malo.

Repeat after the speaker, paying attention to the way they pronounce the vowels, the inflections and rhythm of the words.

To get even more out of this activity, record yourself speaking a few times to see if you can pronounce the words and use the sentence structures like the speaker in the recording.

Simple, yeah? Intentionally doing these simple exercises daily will improve your pronunciation, vocabulary and ability to express yourself in Hawaiian.

If these emails have helped you learn Hawaiian, share them with a friend! Let’s grow our Hawaiian speaking community.

Keep up the good work!

me ke aloha,

Malu
